STEP #1: understand the image
Who is Tu Choisis?
What do they do?
An upscale French-American crepêrie located in major northeastern cities such as Boston and NYC. Would like to be known for authentic imported items and to be moderately priced. (A mock business plan created by Shauna Plancon)
Serving authentic french crêpes buffet style with high quality toppings. Tu Choisis provides patrons with a personalized dining experience.
Target Audience?
Natives and tourists that have a taste for culture while grabbing a quick bite to eat.
Price Point?
$10 per plate. $4-$5 for additional imported topping.
The Focus?
To create a bold yet classic logo that is eye-catching in an upscale city setting.
Step 2: put the focus on paper
Edwardian Script was chosen as the primary font to grasp target audience attention. It was imperative to create the feeling that the initials are jumping towards the potential customer.

I experimented with shades of purple to promote the upscale aspect of the business. After a few drafts I found that the dark and light purple contrast was bold enough for a storefront sign, along with the white "Crêperie" against the black background.
